August Meeting:
Special Six Flags Meeting

To beat the heat and have some fun in the process, the August 14th meeting will take place at Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA. While there, we will take in Dave Garrity’s magic show at 6:00PM. Dave has arranged discount admissions for us at $15 per person. (Parking is $10 per car. Carpool!) Some of us are going for the whole day and will be at the right-most admission gate at noon. Others who only want to catch Dave’s show will be met at 5:20PM. Remember to take into account the time it takes to get from the parking lot to the main gates (over that footbridge!) when arriving. Dave has to tell the park how many tickets to set aside for us so you must let me know by Thursday (10th) noon if you are coming and how many in your party. Call (860.523.9888) or email (danaring@tiac.net). The tickets get you into everything in the park—rides, waterpark, etc.—so make a day of it!

Treas’ report: balance reported.

Old Bus.: VP Angelo Chirico mentioned that the date of Saturday, November 11, 2006 be set as our Day of Magic. It was discussed that we do two shows: one for the children during the day and one for the adults at night. Details still need to be worked out. Angelo has a professional MC/Juggler that offered to give him a great price to host this event. Cal Vinick mentioned that these additional expenses would cut into our profit while Mel Begley (cont.)

maintained that we should make our first show the best we can so we can easily promote future shows.

New Bus.: It was decided that in lieu of the next meeting, we would go to Six Flags and see Dave Garrity’s show. All were in favor of that.
Angelo offered to start a News Group on-line dedicated to our chapter to give us the opportunity to share information and communicate news better amongst ourselves in real time. Angelo asks that all members kindly submit their email addresses to him (at angelo@angelosonmain.com) so he can invite them to join. It's a great way to keep abreast with what’s happening in our magic circle.

G&W: Len Lazar is recuperating after a brief stay at the hospital. Angelo proposed sending him flowers or a card on the club’s behalf.

Aftermeeting: The topic: “Paper”

Angelo handed out copies of the famous paper Dragon Optical illusion. He also did a bitten dollar bill effect and a 5 card monte. Walt Umberfield did a fantastic torn and restored effect. Cal did a variation of the torn and restored without restoring the paper? ...entertaining just the same. Mel did several effects including a fantastic dollar bill to paper effect.
