MASKLYN’S LAW OF MAGICK:

Practice is its own punishment.
April Meeting:
Mental Magic

The theme for this month is “Mentalism.”  But of course you knew that already, didn’t you?  Get out of the house and into someone’s mind.  Join us on April 9.  The meeting starts at 7:30 PM.  Have dinner with us, if you can, at 6:00 PM.  See you there!

Minutes of March Meeting

12 March 2007  7:38 PM
Sec’y’s report: accepted as printed.
Treas’ report: Our balance was reported.
Pres. report: Dan Sclare tried to contact the person connected with the DVD collection, unsuccessfully.  He passed around the contact list asking for confirmations.
April 14 is the date of the Spring Spectacular show at Angelo’s.  The show should last from 1 hour to 1hr 20min.  The show and buffet dinner will cost $45pp.  Capacity is 70 seats, 10 of which are filled at this date.  VP Angelo Chirico will advertise in local papers.  We’ll schedule a meeting to wrap up the schedule and roster.
Adjourned: 7:54 PM
Aftermeeting—Theme: Money Magic. As a preface, Dan demo’d a rough draft of a card box he constructed per MAGIC Magazine instructions that “sings” when you open it.  Later, he did the “gozinta” trick—using dental dams.  He showed us a box of “Money Magic” that he got from a dollar store in Manchester.  Later he used a Coin Wand to produce coins and did Copentro.  He finished by dealing six number cards randomly chosen that matched a Classic Lotto ticket.
Walt Umberfield did a version of Color Monte in which the dollar in his pocket was the “money card.”
Len Lazar pulled multiple coins from a hanky with a giant coin finale.  He also did a manipulation saying the coins go “down the sleeve.”
Cal Vinick talked of the “March of Dimes.”  He borrowed a (marked) dime, which then appeared in —>

When Last We Met

Dan Sclare and his Copentro.

<— a bag, inside a box-in-box-in-box-etc. all wrapped with many rubber bands.
Angelo tossed a handful of change into a Crown Royal bag.  One picked at random was guessed, right down to the date.  It used a clever gimmick of glued-together coins.
Kevin Aust changed a dime to a penny in Len’s hand, then penetrated Len’s hand with another penny.  He also turned two quarters into a half-dollar.
Frank Lenna penetrated a paper and bill with a plastic ruler—the paper had a hole, the bill did not!
Our guest, Norm, took a $2 bill and “ripped” it into two $1s, then back.
