MASKLYN’S LAW OF MAGICK:

Never attribute to plagiarism that which is adequately explained by thievery.
January Meeting:
The “Who Wants To Be A Magical Genius?” Game

It’s game time!  No, not the Super Bowl, but Bruce Kalver’s quiz show, based on that Millionaire game with that Philbin character.  Three lucky members will get a chance to test their magical knowledge for prizes.  Study up and join us January 14. Maybe YOU will turn out to be the Big Magic Brain.
The meeting starts at 7:30 PM, preceded by dinner at 6:00 PM.

Minutes of November Meeting

12 November 2007  7:30 PM
Sec’y’s report: accepted as printed.
Treas’ report: Our balance was reported.
Old Bus.: The show on Saturday is sold out.  A Sunday show has been added, and is likely to sell out, too.  On Sunday, the performers are Assembly members.  The Saturday show will have a special guest to do yo-yo tricks in the lobby to entertain people coming in, all other performers are from the Mystery Lounge in Cambridge, MA.
We might have a Veteran’s Program show in Rocky Hill in January, but working at the Children’s Hospital is very difficult because of security concerns.
If anyone has a favorite “magic website,” email the link to Pres. Angelo Chirico and he’ll distribute them.
Dave Garrity reported a hiccup in the link in the email notice.  It seems there’s a misplaced “!” in it.
New Bus.: Angelo handed out copies of the Connecticut member list for examination.  He also handed out an announcement regarding NEMCON, which will be March 8, 2008.

Angelo praised Dave Garrity's Halloween show at Six Flags. Sec. Dana Ring read news about the National Council’s November meeting.
Dave says this Sunday’s show will be taped by a friend of his who is starting a video editing business.  Copies of the show will be available for sale, with proceeds going to the club.
G&W: Ray Goulet’s wife had an accident recently, but is expected to recover (nearly completely).  The club will send a card. David Oliver’s mother passed away one year ago.  The club will send a card.
Dick Matt, in addition to selling some magic items today, is also selling a PA-Karaoke machine, with wireless mike and remote corded control (operated by foot).  The machine uses cassettes.  Dick is also selling a giant-top-hat table.

Adjourned: 8:24 PM

Tonight’s theme was “tag sale.”  The club asked for 10% of any cash sales.  Charlie Hayden brought in some collectible items for which all monies went to the club, including a Gwendolyn duck.  Guest Dean Berube used to have a magic shop and sold old inventory at cost.
