MASKLYN’S LAW OF MAGICK:

As long as you don’t have to prove it, your method is the better one.
May Meeting: Mentalism

This month, it’s time to go out of your mind and into someone else’s.  Pick your favorite mind game and go mental with the group.  (You knew I was going to use those bad puns, didn’t you?)  I predict good times for all.  The meeting is May 12 and starts at 7:30 PM.  Join the officers for dinner, please, at 6:00 PM.

Minutes of April Meeting

14 April 2008   7:38 PM
Sec’y’s report: accepted as printed.
Tres. rpt.: balance was reported.
O. B.: Pres. Angelo Chirico passed around a flyer for the May 3rd show.  It’s already half-sold, even before the newspaper ad goes out.
Angelo has talked to the Vet’s hospital.  They are looking forward to us doing something in May or June.
The club has authorized building a stage for use at the restaurant’s shows.  Rick St. Pierre reports the stage is built and ready to be delivered.  Angelo’s waitress, Louise, has agreed to sew curtains for the new stage.  The stage is expected to pay for itself after just two shows.
N. B.: Secretary Dana Ring read a letter from PNP Rich Dooley about a benefit show for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center on June 1.
Thanks to Len Lazar, our video library has increased.  Talk to Angelo about what is available.
VP Dan Sclare reports “VH-1” will air a magic reality show featuring celebrities learning magic tricks.  Rumor is that Simon Lovell will be on the show. G&W:  Pat Bigley sent a note to Angelo.

Adjourned 8:00PM

When Last We Met
VP Dan Sclare teaches a trick to John Marenholtz, Walt Umberfield, and Cal Vinick.  That’s Dave Edwards hidden behind Walt.
←   At tonight’s meeting, everyone received a specially-made SAM-21 close-up mat, a new deck of cards, and “lecture notes.”  Thanks go to Angelo, Rick, Bob Teralia, and Dan for putting together this teach-in, based on Johnnie Thompson’s DVD lecture.  This was only a small sampling of tricks—if you want to learn more great tricks, you’ll have to buy Johnnie’s DVD.

May Show Great Success

A
ll reports are that the Spring Show this past weekend was a tremendous success.  Next month’s newsletter will feature as many pictures of the event as I can cram in there.
