July Meeting:
Flash Magic

Fourth-of-July fireworks light up the sky with dazzling colors before producing a large bang.  Make a big noise at the next meeting by performing a routine that involves some kind of flash.  Don’t be a flash-in-the pan; join us July 12 at 7:30 PM.  Join the officers for dinner at 6:00 PM.  (Bangs optional.).

Minutes of June Meeting

14 June 2010 7:35 PM
VP Dan Sclare called the meeting to order.
The secretary's report was accepted as published, and the treasurer reported our balance.
Old Bus.: Dan reported that the ad the club purchased for inclusion in the M-U-M's first issue of Volume 100 appeared as expected.
New Bus.: The executive board met to draft by-laws for the combined club and made great progress.  Another meeting will be scheduled.
Rick St. Pierre moved that the assembly change its name to “Bill Greenough Assembly #21.&rdquo  There was no objection.  There will be a notice in the next newsletter asking the members to vote on a by-law amendment at the July meeting.  [That’s it in the lower-right corner.]
G&W: The ICBM Gathering is November 11-13. SAMCON is set for November 6. Pat Guida reports he had a possible lecturer for the September meeting.

Adjourned at 7:54 PM

Tonight's theme was “Silk Magic&rdquo and five members had effects to share.  Dan Sclare changed a wand to ribbons.  Then he took two tubes, one fitting over the other, and covered each with tissue.  He produced long

silks from each, ending with a Silk Fountain.  Lastly, he showed an empty metal box whence he produced silks.  All this was accompanied by his sound system: a B. Happie speaker.
Steve Wronker did a quick double-production of rainbow ribbons from a Lefty.
President Angelo Chirico did card to silk to cane to double silk.
Ed Cook opened a tube lengthwise to show it empty and produced a large silk.
Dan asked the club for help with a knot-off-silk routine and got several good suggestions from the group.
Finally, Chris White borrowed one of the waitstaff and did 20th-Century Briefs.

Important Vote At July Meeting

At the July meeting, there will be a vote on a by-law change to rename our assembly.  Our current name is &ldquoNorthern Connecticut Assembly #21&rdquo and there is a motion to change this to &ldquoBill Greenough Assembly #21.&rdquo  This requires affirmation by 60% of the members present, plus approval from National.  Secretary Dana Ring expects to bring that approval back from the Convention.
